Ligier JS Cup
Junior Program
A Junior driver joins a LIGIER JS CUP France crew in a LIGIER JS2 R, regardless of the other teammates, their skills, or whether there are one or two of them.
Two Juniors cannot drive the same car; if this is the case, only one can compete for the JS P4 prize.
The races are 4 or 6 hours long and can have two or three drivers per car.
The Junior drivers will be the only ones to qualify the car.
Junior drivers must start the races.
After 40 minutes and one lap , a ranking will be established between the Juniors only and will constitute the result of the Ligier Junior Programme race.
The race does not stop there and therefore the experience continues to be stored for them through the different stints. Their result therefore absolutely does not depend on the result of their teammates and the outcome of the race: no matter who they drive with, they are neither advantaged nor penalized.
A controlled budget
The budget, based on an average estimate between the teams, represents approximately €120,000 to €140,000 excluding VAT for 5 races , including test sessions and tyres (a slight increase may occur due to the need for rain tyres), excluding insurance and damage, and for the entire car, therefore to be shared between two or three drivers.
So, to date, the estimated budget is €40,000 to €70,000 excluding tax per Junior driver, depending on whether he joins a team of two or three drivers for the 5 races.
The LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAM is open to drivers aged 16 to 26
Admission criteria will be specified soon.
All the ingredients are there to allow the champions of tomorrow to express their full talent and potential.
The LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME in LIGIER JS CUP is the platform for modern endurance racing.
A 5-race Championship
Contacts are severely punished through a strict penalty system, which may go as far as exclusion from the LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAM in the Ligier JS Cup France Series.
The winner of the season will be granted a Ligier JS P4 for free for the next season, to race in the LIGIER EUROPEAN SERIES, JS P4 category, equivalent to 100,000€ (excl. VAT). Following on, the LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAMME offers the winners of the LIGIER EUROPEAN SERIES in LIGIER JS P4 a grant allocation of €150,000 (excl. VAT) to enter the next season on a Ligier JS P320 in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
The LIGIER JUNIOR PROGRAM provides talent detection and mentorship that can lead to the top of endurance racing.
