Limonest Mont Verdun

The coast takes place on the slopes of Mont-Verdun located in the commune of Limonest about ten kilometers northwest of Lyon, near the A6 motorway.

Dean of French coast races still in operation with her creation in 1905, this centuries-old event is every year the scene of the ultimate outcome of the French Mountain Championship (Moderne & Historical Competition Vehicles).

Limonest Mont Verdun History

Organized since 1905, the Limonest – Mont Verdun coast race is one of the oldest in France.

The first edition of the competition took place in 1905. The event was contested at the time between the end of April and the end of May, then was positioned at the beginning of June at the end of the interwar period. It then settles in the middle of September.

The 2,680 km track for a drop of 160 m and an average slope of 6% also hosts the final of the Coupe de France of the mountain 3 times between 2014 and 2016.

Association Sportive Automobile du Rhône

The association called (ASA du Rhône) was founded on October 26, 1945 in accordance with the Law of July 1, 1901.

Under the authority and control of the French Motor Sport Federation (FFSA) and the Rhône-Alpes Motor Sport League, the Rhône Automobile Sports Association aims to regulate, organize, direct and develop the practice of motorsport.

In its delegated powers, it is responsible in particular for the issuance of licenses, the training of its officials and the recruitment of new members.
