The 15 corners in the Autodromo Vallelunga run through an intricate and challenging trajectory full of elevation changes, off-camber turns, multiple apexes turns, and a wide array of features that increase the technical difficulty of the track.
Vallelunga serves as a testing ground for several Formula 1 teams and hosts important motorcycle and racecar competitions such as the Superbike World Championship, European LeMans Series, or NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
High-performance race cars can travel the 2.53-mile (4.07-km) circuit in an average lap time of 1:51.7 and an average speed of 81 mph (130 km/h).

Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi History
It stands in the outskirts of the Roman town of Campagnano di Roma, on a 40-minutes ride north of Rome, Italy.
1950
The racetrack was born from the transformation of a racecourse wanted and made a few years earlier by a Roman entrepreneur passionate about horses and with a good sniff for business.
The project of the asphalt track, financed by the Automobile Club Roma and the Italian Motorcycle Federation is carried out by the well-known automotive champion Piero Taruffi, engineer and driver, and still today is recognized by everyone the great technical validity of the track, mixed-fast, very valid especially for the development of cars.
The work to prepare the short track “club”, 1,746 meters long and 10 wide, began in the summer of 1957 and was quickly completed, so much so that, already on December 1, 1957, the official competitive activity began with the dispute of the first race the 6 Hours It.
In Vallelunga between the end of 1957 and the beginning of 1958 was created the first Driving School in Italy wanted by the Automobile Club Roma, by Attilio Giannini and Luigi Musso, which was then directed by Nino Farina, the first World Champion of F1.
The Vallelunga Company enters into an agreement with the Municipality of Campagnano, the area where the racetrack is located, to double the length of the track.
The work of the track ends with the construction of the “international” long circuit of the total length of 3,222 meters. The inauguration with the F1 GP Roma was celebrated in April 1963.
The ACI-SARA Safe Driving Center is born
Since the beginning of 2004 the flagship of the plant has undoubtedly become the “ACI-SARA Safe Driving Center”. This center is at the forefront for the equipment available and for teaching, so much so that it is certainly the most advanced on the national territory.
In the Center are taught the techniques to improve the driving not only of cars but also of motorcycles, trucks, caravans and campers. In fact, the equipment, including a very modern aquaplaning track and even a system to reproduce the fog artificially, has been created and differentiated for the various types of two-, four- or more wheeled vehicles.
In the summer of 2005 the important works of lengthening of one kilometer of the track were concluded, expanding its already excellent and multifaceted possibilities of use. This reached the total length of km. 4.085 for cars and 4,110 for motorcycles.
