Concept
The TCR is a touring car homologation, first introduced in 2014 and now used by a multitude of championships around the world.
All TCR touring cars are front-wheel drive cars based on 4- or 5-door production vehicles and are powered by 1.75- to 2.0-litre turbocharged engines. While the body design and suspension of the production vehicle are retained from the production car, and many models use a production gearbox, certain adaptations are made for the needs of a track, including improved brakes and aerodynamics. Competition vehicles are subject to performance balance adjustments (BoP) to ensure competitiveness between different vehicles.
In Mexico, the category will arrive in 2024 to form part of the Notiauto Cup with the aim of bringing the best touring cars on the planet to the country to compete in both SPRINT format, speed races, and ENDURANCE format.
