Clio Cup Series
Backed by fifty-five years of experience in sedan promotion formulas, Renault Sport Racing puts its know-how and expertise at the service of professional and amateur drivers by offering them a modern, high-performance and economical product with the fifth generation of ClioCup!
THE RULES IN BRIEF
Each event will give rise to an allocation of points for the twenty best-ranked drivers according to the following scale: 50-42-36-33-30-27-24-22-20-18-16-14-12-10-8 -6-4-3-2-1.
The points awarded for the Challengers and Gentlemen Drivers classifications will follow the standard FIA scale: 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1.
Each classified driver will score points according to the classifications of the series where he or she is registered.
In the Clio Cup Europe, the sixteen best results from the eighteen races will be retained. In each national series, the best eleven results out of twelve races (or nine out of ten races) will be taken into account.
The counts are not applicable on the last meeting of the season or in the event of sporting and technical exclusions.
The driver with the fastest lap during qualifying will score 2 points. All the drivers who took the start of the race appear in the classification. Full points and finish bonuses will only be awarded if the race is stopped after 75% of the scheduled distance or time has been covered or completed.
If the race has to be stopped by the Race Direction between the second lap and the achievement of 75% of the distance or the scheduled time, only 50% of the points and finish bonuses will be awarded.
The team classification will be established based on the cumulative points of the first two drivers of each team, without a joker race.
During each event of the championship, Renault Sport Racing and its partner Michelin will provide tires for any participant registered in a race on the calendar (depending on the registration package chosen)
Les concurrentes féminines se verront offrir les droits d’engagement.
Arrival bonuses (part credits) are awarded on the condition that 75% of the planned distance or time is covered or completed. The first ten in the general classification will be awarded, as well as the first three in the Challengers and Gentlemen categories.
At the end of the season, the winner of the Clio Cup Europe will win a Clio Cup. The winners of the national series will also receive prize money and five entries in 2023. The second and third of the groups and of the Clio Cup Europe will also be awarded, as will the winners of the Challengers and Gentlemen Drivers categories.
