Originally a dirt track used for local competitions, it was paved in 1973 and has since become a popular venue for a variety of motorsport events.
The 2.507 km (1.558 miles) circuit boasts a technical and flowing layout, characterized by a mix of fast straights, tight corners, and elevation changes.
Key corners include the sweeping "Curva del Lago" and the challenging "Esse", requiring precise braking and car control.
While lacking grandstands comparable to larger circuits, the natural amphitheater setting allows spectators excellent views from the surrounding hillsides.
The track is FIA Grade 3 certified.
Autodromo dell'Umbria - Magione hosts a diverse range of racing events, including Italian Touring Car Championship races, Formula series competitions, and motorcycle racing.
The circuit's configuration allows for both clockwise and counter-clockwise racing, adding another layer of complexity.

Autodromo dell'Umbria History
Autodromo di Magione: In the spring of 1972 the nucleus of the Scuderia Carpine formed by Lorenzo Rondini, Giulio Capolsini, Umberto Mannocchi, Paolo Bietoloni, Gianni Moretti, Francesco Terradura and Giuseppe Tarpani began work on the construction of a small circuit on a land owned by one of the members in the Bacanella valley, Magione.
A year later, on April 7, 1973, the Autodromo di Magione was inaugurated with the first race, destined to become a tradition: the Pilot’s Easter.
In a short time the track, with its just 1650 meters, becomes a plant of national importance and is the scene of important challenges in all car categories, from the Italian championships to the various single-brand trophies, up to hundreds of club races, but also traveling events such as the Italian Autohistorical Cup or the Giro d’Italia.
Free of large infrastructures (at the beginning there are only a dozen open boxes) the Autodromo di Magione, however, has from the early years a large covered grandstand capable of holding up to 3000 spectators, who constantly flock to witness the challenges of the most beautiful names of Italian motoring: among them Michele Alboreto, Enzo Coloni and Elio De Angelis.
1996 saw the expansion of the track, brought from the original 1650 meters to the current 2507. In parallel, the infrastructure is also adjusted with the creation of a new and wider paddock, the construction of twenty boxes and the new service building including the race direction, the press room and the timing booth.
The watchword always remains: “innovation”, therefore the Autodromo dell’Umbria has been hosting since 2007 the first and only economy run for production cars that takes place on the circuit, the “25 Hours of Magione – Energy Saving Race”. It is a challenge to the last drop of fuel that attracts the interest of some large car manufacturers, present in an official capacity, intent on reaching the finish line of 25 hours of racing consuming as little fuel as possible. The same name race for the work vehicles is the “1000 Km”.
In 2015 the new management brings the motorcycle races back to the track, thanks to the collaboration with the Moto Club Spoleto: the CIV Junior, but also the International Speeds also lead the Italian Motorcycling Federation to consider the Autodromo dell’Umbria as a good test ground for the tricolor riders, from which also derives the successful experience of the IMF Camp.
Some new collaborations are born with non-profit associations that bring cycling races to Magione for solidarity and other social initiatives.
