Series Exclusively For Novice Drivers
The Caterham Academy is a unique series exclusively for rookie drivers. An all-inclusive ‘introduction to motorsport’ package, it includes a Caterham Horse HR13 powered road-legal race car, race licence, technical support, the racing itself and perhaps most importantly, the guidance of the Caterham team at every stage.

"The Academy Racer," a six-part episode series that offers an exclusive look into the adrenaline-fuelled world of the Caterham racing series, designed for novice drivers.
THE CAR
The 2026 car uses a new Caterham Horse HR13 130bhp, an open differential, 6-speed gearbox and low-grip tyres to ‘teach’ car control.
THE SERIES
All 2025 Caterham Academy positions have long since sold out, and positions for the 2026 Academy grid are already being filling. Caterham’s Academy series is so popular its sold out every year since it’s inception in 1995, with 2017 marking a true milestone for the series- Caterham’s 1000th novice driver. Today Caterham Academy builds on its history of long-standing success and is considered one of Europe’s most successful novice driver series.
The moobob Caterham Academy – the perfect place to start in the world of circuit racing for novice drivers, and is one of the most popular categories in UK national motorsport, boasting sold out grids every year since its inception back in 1995.
The series is for rookie drivers with graduates moving on up to the Roadsport category. The Academy car itself produces 125bhp and uses an open differential, five-speed gearbox and low-grip tyres; all of which will help those behind the wheel fine-tune their skills and car control.
The championship features six rounds in England and Wales and an overseas event in Barbados. The action on track consists of seven short-sharp 20 minute sprint races – with 30 points up for grabs for the race winner with points descending to one point for every finisher.
