RACE TRACK ENGLAND

Anglesey Circuit

Built in 2007, the track reflects the undulating landscape. Technically challenging for drivers and riders, with imaginative cambers, fast sections, challenging mid-range corners, with hairpin bend and 10% banked corner, the track is 12m wide. For spectators, follow the pedestrian walkway anticlockwise to view track activity face on and experience the excitement of the approaching vehicles. Check out our events and activities and we look forward to welcoming you to the circuit soon.

The Anglesey Circuit (Welsh: Trac Môn) is a motor racing circuit located in Ty Croes, Anglesey, Wales. It plays host to a variety of motorsport events including car racing, motorcycle racing, car sprints, stage rallies and drifting.

It opened as a fully licensed MSA and ACU championship racing circuit in 1997. The circuit was significantly redeveloped in 2006, and as of 2019 further plans for additional development have been in place.

This facility hosts club events for the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) and the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC).

There are four possible configurations for racing at the Anglesey Circuit: the 3.4-km (2.1-miles) International Circuit, the 2.5-km (1.55-miles) Coastal Circuit, the 1.9-km (1.2-miles) National Circuit, and the 1.28-km (0.8-mile) Club Circuit.

The International Circuit in Anglesey is the longest and most technical raceway in this motorsports complex.

It has 11 turns, a clockwise orientation, and several straightaways and sweeping curves that elevate its average speed to 125 km/h (78 mph). Three of the turns are close-angled right-handers, and four are tight left-handers.

There are no dramatic elevation changes in the trajectory, but multiple overtaking spots like the Tom Pryce straight make races in Anglesey very interesting to watch.

The Coastal Circuit deviates from the International Circuit after Seamans, taking the Corkscrew instead of the Tom Pryce straight and going directly into the Bus Stop.

Anglesey Circuit-Trac Môn International GP

Anglesey Circuit-Trac Môn International GP is 3.4 km, 11 turns, clockwise.

The International GP configuration at Anglesey Circuit (Trac Môn) delivers the full 3.4-kilometer championship-grade layout at this Welsh facility located on Anglesey island in North Wales.

The International GP designation indicates FIA-certified infrastructure meeting international racing standards, representing the circuit's premier configuration capable of hosting major championships.

Anglesey Circuit-Trac Môn Coastal CW

Anglesey Circuit-Trac Môn Coastal CW is 2.5 km, 10 turns, clockwise.

Anglesey Circuit's Coastal clockwise configuration delivers 2.494 kilometers through 11 turns including the signature downhill Corkscrew with 10-percent banking, located in Ty Croes on Wales's Anglesey island where this technical layout emphasizes elevation changes and imaginative cambers.

This CW routing reverses the traditional counterclockwise flow across the 1.550-mile Coastal layout, transforming the Corkscrew descent and various banked corners into opposite-direction challenge where all reference points work backwards from CCW design intent.

Anglesey Circuit History

Anglesey Circuit is located on a former British Army and RAF facility on the island of Anglesey, just off the North coast of Wales.

In 1997, the facilities were upgraded and the circuit developed, along with the installation of a small permanent pitlane. It would be at this stage the circuit gained its Motor Sports Association license.

In 2006, the motorsports venue saw a major overhaul, with the majority of its 1.057 mi (1.701 km) circuit being scrapped in favour of a radical new development that includes four different track layouts: a 2.100 mi (3.380 km) International Circuit; 1.550 mi (2.494 km) Coastal Circuit, 1.200 mi (1.931 km) National Circuit and 0.800 mi (1.287 km) Club Circuit.
