Misano Adriatico in the Emilia-Romagna region, positioned approximately 120 kilometers southeast of Bologna.
The circuit's development began in 1969 when local officials proposed constructing a new autodrome to serve the region's motorsport community, with construction commencing November 1970.
On November 3, 2011, the circuit received its current official designation honoring Marco Simoncelli, the talented Italian motorcycle racer from nearby Coriano who tragically died during the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix.
The 2006 season for total reconstruction that fundamentally altered the circuit's character, most significantly reversing the track direction from the original counter-clockwise layout to the current clockwise configuration.
The redesigned Misano World Circuit reopened in 2007, measuring 4.226 kilometers (2.626 miles) through 16 corners comprising 6 left-hand and 10 right-hand turns, with track width expanded to 14 meters and a longest straight measuring 530 meters, creating a modern layout that balanced safety requirements with the flowing, technical character that defines premier motorcycle racing circuits.

Test Track
Opened in 2003, the multipurpose Test Track (Driving Experience Ring) covers an area of 35,000 sqm, with a length of 900 meters and a width of 9 meters.
It hosts safe driving courses (motorcycles, cars, vans, and trucks) and sports driving courses with the “Guidare Pilotare” racing school by Siegfrid Stohr, located within the racetrack, as well as sports driving courses on Renault Formula Campus cars (the “Speed Drive Santamonica” incentive, organized directly by Santa Monica S.p.a.), alongside commercial activities and presentations.
Flat Track
The Flat Track Arena, inaugurated at the beginning of 2015, with a length of 1,050 meters, is already a reference point for Track Racing enthusiasts and for the training of the great two-wheel champions.
Graziano Rossi, father of nine-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi, also contributed to the project: “All young motorcyclists train on dirt, learning to slide, then bringing what they learn onto the track. Valentino has always trained on dirt.”

Misanino Kart Track
With 35.000 sqm of surface and 900 meters in length and 10 in width, the Kart Track of the Santamonica Racetrack is a circuit where everyone can give free rein to their unexpressed or dreamed driving skills, in complete calm and safety.

Misano Circuit History
The Misano Circuit was designed in 1969 with a length of 3.488 meters and inaugurated in 1972. Initially, it only had small open garages and a building for services.
In 1993, the track was extended to 4.060 meters, offering two configurations: a long version and a short version. New garages, technical rooms, and a press room of approximately 600 sqm were built.
Between 1996 and 1997, the second phase of the works was completed, further expanding the building and the garages.
In 1998, the paddock area was expanded to reach an area of 40.000 sqm. In 2001, the first phase of the grandstands was completed, offering 5.000 seats.
After the tragic passing of rider Marco Simoncelli in 2011, the circuit was officially renamed "Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli" in 2012, in his honor.
Today, the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli hosts world-class events such as MotoGP and the Superbike World Championship, establishing itself as a benchmark in the global motorsport scene.
